Healthy living doesn’t equal deprivation. You can still have your alcohol and drink it too (see what I did there!). Your low sugar low carb, but still yummy alcohol drink :)

Say whaat?! Yes, it is totally possible to live a healthy lifestyle AND have the occasional drink.

Unfortunately, most of the alcoholic beverages out there come with bloating, headaches, or gas from those drinks that have toxins or too much sugar.

There is ALWAYS a healthier choice.

There are times when alcohol should be completely avoided, no matter what. Besides the obvious (like when you’re pregnant), you should avoid it if you’re recovering from a traditional unhealthy lifestyle because your body MUST have time to heal.

If you’re pregnant or letting your body heal, don’t worry there are some ‘mocktail’ recipes in this post just for ya!

With that being said, once you’re well on your way to health - feel free to enjoy the occasional healthy-ish drink.

I’ve put together this list of low carb and low sugar drinks here.

Problems with most alcohol on the market today

The amount of sugar in an alcoholic drink can range from 1/4 of a tsp to 9 tsps.!! (source) Sugar is one of the biggest toxins out there! If your sugar cravings have control of you, head here to learn more about taking control back.

That’s not the only toxin hiding in your adult beverage! Because things like grapes and grains are used for certain drinks, there can also be pesticides and herbicides in your drink.

To learn more about commercially made wine and all the junk they put in, read here.

Ok let’s get to the good stuff…

Here are your healthy low carb low sugar yummy adult beverages!!

Pickled Beet Dirty Martini here.

The Best Skinny Margarita here.

Skinny Sangria here. I recommend always drinking organic wine that is low in sulfates and sulfites. You can find a great variety at Dry Farm Wines.

Skinny Vegan Bloody Mary here.

Skinny Strawberry Daiquiri here.

Low Carb Sugar Free Bailey’s Irish Cream here.

White Wine Skinny Mojito here.

Fresh Squeezed Skinny Margarita here.

Salty Dog Pink Grapefruit Drink here.

Kombucha Moscow Mule here. I would omit the agave. Agave is 80% fructose which is very hard for our body to process. It can contribute to fatty liver among other isssues. You can use a small amount of monk fruit sweetener instead.

Now for those mocktails!

Sugar-Free Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer here.

Frosty Coconut Mint Green Tea Mocktail here.

Which of these will you try first? Let me know in the comments. Remember to post a pic with #HDMhealth so I can see!

Peace and wellness -
